ABOUT ELDER JOYCE RABB BUTLER

Elder Joyce Rabb Butler was born and reared in Jonesboro, Louisiana, to the proud parents of the late Pedria and Ardell Rabb. Educated in the Jackson Parish School System, she attended Jackson High School until segregation and later graduated from Jonesboro-Hodge High School in 1971.She earned an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood from Delgado Community College in New Orleans, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans, and a Master’s Degree in Theology. On May 24, 2026, she will receive her Doctorate in Theology from The New Testament Church in Jonesboro, Louisiana.Elder Butler retired from the Department of Children and Family Services as a Child Welfare Specialist, earning Worker of the Year honors in 2015 and 2016 and the Light of Hope Award from CASA.
She serves as First Assistant to Bishop Tyrone Jefferson at Abundant Life Tabernacle FGBC in New Orleans and holds leadership roles including Director of Women of Vision Ministry and Director of Ministerial Alliance.
